Did you know? Even under ideal conditions people have trouble locationg their car keys in a pocket, finding their cell phone, and pinning the tail on a donkey...BUT I'd bet everyone can find and push the snooze button from 3 feet away, in about 1.7 seconds, eyes closed, first time, every time :)

Everything changes, you know same ole same ole
Isn't interesting how fast life is moving? Although on a day like today it just seems to stand still. Not in a bad way, just a comfortable way. The rain was so beautiful today and the way the wind rushed through our open windows felt great. I didn't get anything really accomplished today, in contrast to yesterday during which I accomplished above and beyond the call of duty (duty meaning school and chores). As I was saying, life moves at the speed of light, yet here I am sitting and listening to the rain. :) I have had a great day, Haha I don't know why, but I did. Nothing much to report, other than free entertainment provided by the most adorable two year old in the world. She is so funny!! I was talking to my mom on the phone and she stole my phone an started talking to Mom, completely controlling the conversation. I had a weird flashback today. :) Sydney (2 yrs. old) was sleeping on the couch, and I decided to draw a portrait of her, since she was sitting still for once. She looked exactly like Madi when she was that age (she's now 11). Mind you, Madi was always sleeping, ALWAYS, under the desk, during bible meetings, at the table, in the most uncomfortable positions. So, just for a little while, two year old Sydney looked exactly like Madi did at three years old. :) SO CUTE.

A day in the life......
Buenos Dias. ?Como estas? After our public talk and Watchtower study at the Kingdom Hall yesterday, me and a friend stayed to attend the Spanish meeting :) It was so great!! I actually understood most of it, which was unexpected. It was so much fun to sing in Spanish, for some reason it sounds so much prettier to me than in English. I met some new friends, though I was speaking minimal Spanish, a little spanglish, but really I spoke English to them. I tried out a new nickname for a minute, Ani, but I only like it when it's said in a Spanish accent. I introduced myself as that to one person, and instantly changed my mind :). So I'm still Brittany, which I don't mind at all. I can't wait to go again next week! Afterwards I headed over to some friends' house to play board games. We had an amazing barbecue dinner, and played ninja (Not exactly a board game, but the board game we were going to play took us 2 hours to set up, and just took too long, so yeah) I got a little too hyper for my own good, and probably made a complete fool of myself, but at least it was among friends. I came home to hear about the day the rest of the girls in my family had (it sounded awesome). Then did some dishes before heading to bed. Great day over all, let's hope I'm just as productive today ;)

Ah, the wonders of basement living
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/5/59/Black_house_spider02.jpg
So as you may have noticed, I didn't get home 'til late last night. But when I got to bed and was mostly asleep (sadly it was 2 am) I opened my eyes to see a little movement out of the corner of my eye. I turned to see a spider (approx. an inch in diameter) just about two inches from my face. Arachnophobia anyone? So after successfully getting spider on both my book (Jane Eyre) and the wall, I went on to tape around my bed where it touches the wall. After I had spider-proofed my bed to my paranoid standards (keep in mind this is in the wee morning hours) I lay thinking about spiders and reading until I finally fell asleep around 4. Oh, and I struggle with waking up early, as most people do, but as my alarm went off at 7:30 I leapt out of bed with a mere three and a half hours of sleep. So, now I'm off to get stuff done (school, chores, etc).
But first, COFFEE (and yes I will control myself and have only a single cup so as not to repeat yesterday's fiasco)

Goodnight!...almost...
So, it turns out my day turned out well. The only reason this was unexpected is because I actually drank two cups of coffee (instead of my singular one) combined with an empty stomach, which gave me the jitters. Then I was in a bad mood (for no logical reason whatsoever) and the day seemed to last forever. But, we went to an awesome bible meeting tonight, and followed that with some Applebees and my day became wonderful!! 8) Well I should be off to bed, goodnight world!
Awesome poetry (If I do say so myself)
Hope
Though time flies away
as a bird without courage
and our strength slips away
as water, leaving only a trace
though something treacherous
attacks us on the inside
while words outside stab us
though we lose our loved ones
and life disappears so easily
though disheartening thoughts
choke us as a thick, poisonous fog
let us continue fearlessly
because a shining beacon
lights our way
and our armor is strong
because help and peace of mind
are available if we just ask
though we feel alone
if we reach out through the fog
our family is struggling alongside us
and the best friend we can acquire
is guiding us
as a path that does not swerve
a path that will lead to time
time free of tiresome trials
free of pain
time filled with faithful service
filled with happiness
time filled with teaching and healing
and days filled with weary time travelers
returning home
as death's hand is emptied
to time indefinite
